Dietmar Jost is a former German Customs officer and Senior Technical Officer of the World Customs Organization with over 35 years of international managerial and consulting experience in the Customs, trade facilitation and transportation domains.

Dietmar gained special competences and project management experiences in Customs modernization and capacity building programs with focus on Customs risk management, Authorized Economic Operator programs, coordinated border management and modern and digitalized Customs procedures such as pre-arrival processing, expedited shipments and single window.

Senior Officer, Ministry of Finance (1991-1995, 2005-2007)

Senior officer in charge of international Customs cooperation, development of standard Customs messages for electronic data interchange based on international standards such as UN/EDIFACT and ebXML and Customs questions in relation to transit, rail, maritime and civil aviation issues.

Senior Technical Officer, World Customs Organization, Brussels (1995-2005)

Senior Technical Officer with overall responsibility for WCO policies and strategies in the area of Customs automation, business process analysis and single window, Customs procedures, risk management and trade facilitation. Member of the editing team for the Revised Kyoto Convention and the SAFE Framework of Standards and architect of the WCO Data Model versions 1 and 2.
